More rain. The ground is saturated, and there is standing water
in the lawn. If you can't lick 'em, join 'em. So we've dug a
pond
in the front yard, which nature promptly filled for us. (I took
the
picture out of the living room skylight.) The Rand
Brook running
through our back yard is moving pretty fast.
Some local kingbirds discovered a niche in the screen porch roof
(still under construction) and built a nest there six weeks ago.
They have four fledglings now,
and the parents are finding food
and returning to the nest about every 90 seconds.
Sarah and the kids were here
recently, and they had a great time
in Lynn's gardening equipment. |
