June 11, 2006 Still more rain. More grass is underwater in the front lawn. I
started digging a hole
to plant a
maple tree but decided to stop
after eight inches of digging.
Lynn and I served in the refreshment booth for the town's
annual
Historical Fair yesterday. Lynn made her famous caramel pop-
corn to sell. With all the rain, the fair was attended mostly by
those manning
the booths and the refreshment stand. So we took
turns visiting
each other's booths and buying things. Lynn and I
talked
with members of the 6th Regiment of
New Hampshire,
and Lynn bought some homemade soap and a crockery pie plate.
The kingbird fledglings have flown the coup; the nest is empty.
It seems I got their picture on the last day!
Hummingbirds have flocked to
our feeder throughout the rain (listen).
At times there are six of
them vying for a place at the feeder. |
