About once a month I go out to lunch with a couple guys I have known for 40 years.  One is a retired English teacher and the other is a German-English translator and occasional writer-humorist.  So we have in common an interest in language and writing.  We share humorous items and interesting turns of speech.

Lynn planted a kitchen garden in the flower boxes on the deck.  They include thyme, purple sage, lemon verbena, nasturtiums, golden marjoram, and rosemary.  The morning dew edges the sage with jewels. Basil is in a pot by itself.

I'm starting to lay a stone wall under the garden fence.  A cloud of dragonflies surrounds me—my "angel" guardians against mosquitoes.
