Dan:  The new top for the arbor is done, but now the bottom has to be painted to match.  It makes a nice entrance to the garden.
Gidget decided to stay out in the rain this morning, but he was well protected.

Lynn: One of my favorite things here is watching the birds.  I've continued to have one feeder going—it's a simple flat one.  It brings birds that have returned for the summer out of the trees so we can enjoy them.  Some that I've never had at our feeders before are a pair of rose-breasted grosbeaks, an evening grosbeak and male indigo buntings.  Today we had a pair of cardinals.  The female was on the feeder and the male on the ground.  He was enjoying the wild strawberries that grow in the backyard.  We don't use chemicals, so they are treats even for us!

This evening we had a couple over to watch one of our favorite comedies--Jumpin' Jack Flash with Whoopi Goldberg.  Very funny.

Feature: "The Figgerin' of Aunt Wilma" - a short story by James ThurberMore online books.
