Our son-in-law gave us a library ladder a couple years ago. It didn't fit in the Hollis house, so we toted it up to Greenfield with us. At last the ladder is used; the ten-foot-high bookcase, which I built in the den, is the perfect place for it. I occasionally play with a local jazz group—the Anne Thomas quartet. She's the vocalist, I play bass, Matt Harris plays piano, and Craig Waterman plays trumpet. Saturday we played at Rindge's Fourth-of-July celebration. Here's a clip of us doing "My Romance." Feature: I did an SATB arrangement of a lullaby I heard Red Skelton sing back in the '50s—"Little Babe." Other arrangements. Quote for the Day: "I am an old man and have known a
great many troubles, but most of them never happened." - Mark
