The pond at the end of East Rd. is abloom with lilies. Yesterday was the Amherst Fourth-of-July parade. Congressman Charlie Bass and Governor John Lynch were there, but no nationwide politicians this year. Uncle Sam was there on stilts (custom-designed with over 700 parts), and the First New Hampshire Regiment. The Souhegan Valley Chorus had a booth on the town green for publicity. About eight of us were there and sang songs, including "Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight." Feature: A tale of fraud and deception. Quote for the Day: "Those who love deeply never grow
old; they may die of old age, but they die young." - Benjamin
Franklin |
