The grandkids were back for two days again. Sarah and Steve are having their floors sanded and varnished, and they have to be out of the house for a while, so Lynn and I had more time with Alex and Addyson. Addy is really walking—not just a few steps, but eight or ten (the voice is Alex)! Alex helped me dig a fence-post hole so we planted him in it! Is Addy getting a piano lesson from her mother or vice versa? Alex found a treasure in the yard—a box turtle. Addy shared some strawberries and cream with her mother. Feature: ...and it's all done with chalk! Quote for the Day: "Ink is handicapped, in a way, because you can blow up a man with gunpowder in half a second, while it may take twenty years to blow him up with a book. But the gunpowder destroys itself along with its victim, while a book can keep on exploding for centuries." - Christopher Morley |
