The Souhegan Valley Chorus had a "float"
in the Milford Labor Day parade. This is probably the largest
parade in the area with national
political candidates participating. We borrowed a pick-up
truck from a friend and decorated
it, then loaded a PA system in the back to play recordings of the
chorus. Some chorus members lined
up behind the truck, carrying signs in the style of the Burma-Shave
signs. At the end of the parade, Dan
got in line with some parked Shriner's mini-cars. Feature for the day: "The Figgerin' of Aunt Wilma" by James Thurber. Quote for the day: "Anybody who goes to see a psychiatrist ought to have his head examined." - Samuel Goldwyn |
