With the hot
weather, Snowy heads for cool water
when I take her for a walk. She rests for about two minutes with
her stomach in the creek and takes a drink.
A family of Canada geese has
adopted the marsh on Rt. 136 as their home. They stay quite close
to the road, despite the heavy traffic.
Some small things: A beautiful small moth
was on the window frame Lynn was painting. A nest for wasp
larvae was on the underside of the propane tank cover. Blueberries
and raspberries are maturing in our
field. The deer flies have replaced the
black flies as our constant companions outdoors.
On June 16 we went to Lyme, NH to celebrate Addy's
2nd birthday. Lynn gave her some dress-up
clothes. Addy enjoys playing
mommy to her dolls. Here's a good portrait
of Addy with her infectious grin.
In preparation for our party June 23, we painted the
front of the barn, put crushed stone on
the front path, laid a new
path from the house to the barn, and put up two
swings near the river. There were 37 people at the party, including Betsy
Bridges, Jim McLeod-Warrick and his
mother, and the Wolavers.
Everyone brought food, some canoed, and some hiked the trail.
June 21 was the latest sunset of the year. This
picture was taken at 9:30 p.m.
